Laser land levelling uses a laser guided blade to make the field nearly dead level, which spreads irrigation water evenly so you avoid the usual wastage in low spots and under watering on high spots. Benefits reported by farmers and research include meaningful water saving, more uniform germination and crop stand, better fertiliser use, and easier operations, with the gain biggest on uneven fields. It is usually done through a custom hiring centre or contractor on a per hour or per acre basis, and many states offer subsidy on the equipment or service. Re level every few years as fields settle. It pays back fastest where water is scarce or pumped at high cost. Check current subsidy and hiring rates with your agriculture department or KVK.

Got my fields laser levelled through the CHC. The first wheat irrigation covered evenly with clearly less water and the crop stand was uniform end to end.

It pays back fastest on bumpy fields. My really uneven plot saw a big water and crop stand improvement, but a field that was already fairly flat barely changed and was not worth the cost. So spend the money where you have visible high and low spots, not on land that is already level.
