Cattle and other productive animals can be insured under livestock insurance, often with a government share in the premium, but the claim depends strictly on identification and documentation. The animal is valued, usually by a veterinary officer, and insured for its market value for a fixed period of one or more years. A critical step is unique identification: traditionally an ear tag was fixed and its number recorded on the policy, and increasingly a tamper-proof tag or digital ID is used, because if the animal cannot be matched to the policy the claim is denied. The government bears part of the premium for a limited number of animals per beneficiary under the eligible scheme, so your out-of-pocket cost is reduced. On death you must inform the insurer quickly, get a post-mortem and veterinary death certificate, and surrender the ear tag. Confirm the current premium subsidy, the animals covered and the claim documents with your insurance company or the animal husbandry department.

Maine apni bhains ka ear tag laga kar insurance karwaya. Jab wo mar gayi to maine turant insurer ko bataya, post mortem aur vet ka death certificate liya aur ear tag wapas diya, tab claim mila. Tag ke bina claim nahi milta.
