The PMFME scheme (PM Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises) gives a credit-linked capital subsidy of 35 percent of the eligible project cost up to a ceiling for setting up or upgrading a micro food processing unit, such as a flour mill, masala unit, pickle, jam or millet processing. Apply on the PMFME portal: register, prepare a project report (DPR), and your application is linked to a bank for a term loan, since the subsidy is credit-linked. District Resource Persons help individuals and SHGs prepare the proposal. SHG members can also get seed capital support, and groups, FPOs and cooperatives can apply for common infrastructure. Keep Aadhaar, bank details, land or shed proof and your DPR ready, and confirm current ceilings on the portal.
Maine ek chhoti masala unit ke liye PMFME me apply kiya. District Resource Person ne meri project report (DPR) banane me madad ki, fir application bank se link hui term loan ke liye. Subsidy credit-linked hai, isliye bina bank loan ke yeh nahi milti, yeh dhyaan rakhna.
From my experience the project report quality decides everything in this scheme. The District Resource Person helped me make a realistic DPR with proper cost and sales numbers, and the bank approved the term loan faster. A weak or copied project report is the most common reason applications stall, so spend time on it with the DRP.
A common confusion is expecting the 35 percent as cash upfront. It is a credit-linked capital subsidy on the eligible project cost up to a ceiling, adjusted against your loan, not paid before the unit is set up. Get the DRP help for the DPR, it improved my chances a lot, and keep Aadhaar, bank details and shed proof ready.
If you are in an SHG, ask about the seed capital support for members, and groups, FPOs and cooperatives can apply for common infrastructure rather than only individual units. We almost applied the wrong way as individuals. Confirm the current ceiling and eligible activities on the PMFME portal before preparing your proposal.
