land record galat rakba, area mismatch scheme, correction patwari 7/12 khatauni

A wrong area in your land record can affect schemes that pay per hectare or fix limits by area, such as Per Drop More Crop subsidy, some state per-acre support schemes, and the pump capacity under PM-KUSUM, and it can also trip up land verification in PM-Kisan. Get the record corrected at the revenue office: file an application with the patwari or tehsildar pointing out the error, attach any survey or sale-deed proof, and ask for correction of the 7/12 or khatauni. After correction, update your scheme applications so the right area reflects. For PM-Kisan specifically, the eligibility does not depend on how much land you own, but the name and entry must match correctly for land seeding to pass.
Mere 7/12 me rakba galat chad gaya tha. Maine tehsildar ko application di sale deed ki copy ke saath, naap dobara hui aur record theek hua. Per hectare wali subsidy me sahi area se hi sahi paisa banta hai, isliye theek karwana zaroori tha.
In my case the wrong area was because two survey numbers got mixed up during digitisation of records. The tehsildar fixed it after I showed the original sale deed and the field map. So if your area looks wrong, ask whether it is a survey number mix up, because that is common after records went online.
A point that helped me: for PM-Kisan the amount does not depend on how much land you own, but the name and entry must match for land seeding to pass. So a wrong area may not block PM-Kisan by itself, but it does affect per-hectare schemes like micro irrigation and the pump capacity under PM-KUSUM. Fix it before applying for those.
If the patwari is slow to act on the correction, file a written application to the tehsildar or SDM and keep the stamped receiving copy. Verbal requests went nowhere for me. A dated written application created a record and the correction was done before the next subsidy season.
After the revenue office corrects the record, do not forget to update your scheme applications so the right area reflects, otherwise the old figure can still cause a mismatch at verification. I had to go back to the agriculture office to get my corrected record linked. Carry any survey or sale-deed proof to support the correction.
