pm kisan after father death, mutation succession land record, transfer benefit to heir

PM-Kisan does not automatically pass to heirs; you must first get the land mutated into your name after your father death. Apply for mutation (intaqal/dakhil kharij) at the revenue office with the death certificate, legal heir or succession certificate, and the old land record. Once the land is recorded in your name, you then register yourself fresh on pmkisan.gov.in or at a CSC as a new landholding farmer with your Aadhaar, bank passbook and the updated land record, and complete eKYC. The benefit cannot keep going to the deceased account, so do the mutation first. If you have siblings, the land may be partitioned among heirs and each eligible family can register separately.
Pita ji ke baad pehle mutation karwaya, zameen mere naam hui, phir naya registration kiya PM-Kisan me. Purana account band ho gaya tha.
In my case the mutation took longer than expected because there was a small dispute among heirs over shares. We sorted it with a family settlement at the revenue office first, then mutation went smoothly. If there are several heirs, settle the shares early, otherwise the land record stays stuck and nobody can register.
For mutation I had to take the death certificate and a legal heir certificate to the revenue office along with the old land record. Getting the legal heir or succession certificate took the most time, so start that early. Once the land was in my name, the fresh PM-Kisan registration and eKYC were quick.
After the land came into my name and I registered fresh, I had to complete eKYC again as a new beneficiary, the old eKYC did not carry over. Keep your mobile linked to Aadhaar so the OTP eKYC works, or do biometric eKYC at the CSC. Do not assume anything transfers from the old registration.
A pitfall to avoid: do not keep using the deceased account or expect the benefit to continue on the old registration. It will stop and can raise questions in verification. We have three heirs, so we partitioned the land and each eligible family registered separately after mutation.
One thing the revenue office told me: a legal heir certificate from the tehsil is enough for mutation in many cases, but for disputed or larger holdings they may ask for a succession certificate from the court, which takes longer. Ask your revenue office which one your case needs before you start, so you collect the right document the first time.
