Our FPO grows mostly millets and pulses. We want one common processing and packing unit for all members. Can we combine the food processing scheme with millet support, and how do we approach it as a group?

Yes, an FPO is in a good position to combine support, and a common processing and packing unit for millets and pulses is a sensible project. PMFME specifically supports FPOs, cooperatives and producer groups for setting up common processing infrastructure with a credit linked capital subsidy, and also for branding and marketing a common product, which suits a group much better than a single small farmer buying machinery alone. Alongside that, the millet mission and your state millet programme can give you awareness, branding, buyer linkage and market promotion for the millet products, while RKVY funded state projects sometimes support related infrastructure. The practical approach is: have your FPO prepare a clear project for the common unit with a Detailed Project Report, work with a District Resource Person and a bank for the PMFME credit linked subsidy, and separately tap the millet programme and fairs for marketing. Keep your FPO registration, board resolution, member list and bank account in order. Confirm the current group subsidy share, ceiling and exactly which costs are eligible on the PMFME portal and with your district office before you commit, since terms are revised.
Group ke through karne par subsidy share bhi accha milta hai aur ek hi machine sab members use karte hain. DPR achi banwana, wahin sab tika hota hai.
Branding alag se millet mission se le lena, aur machine ki subsidy PMFME se. Dono ko mila kar chalao to unit ka maza aa jata hai.
