NLM subsidy for a poultry unit, how do I apply step by step?

For a poultry unit the National Livestock Mission supports entrepreneurship projects such as parent or grandparent stock units, hatcheries and brooder-cum-mother units, and the help comes as a back-ended capital subsidy released through NABARD after the project is running. Step by step it usually works like this. One, decide your unit type and capacity and get a detailed project report (DPR) prepared with costs, layout and cash flow. Two, register and apply on the NLM portal under the Entrepreneurship Development component, or apply through your State Animal Husbandry Department which is the implementing agency. Three, your application and DPR are scrutinised by a state-level committee. Four, you arrange a term loan from a scheduled bank and put in your own margin money. Five, you complete the unit and the bank claims the subsidy from NABARD, which is then kept in a subsidy reserve fund and adjusted against your loan. The subsidy is a percentage of project cost up to a ceiling, often in the region of 50 percent for eligible poultry entrepreneurship projects, but the percentage, eligible cost and maximum amount are revised periodically and differ by category, so confirm the current numbers with your State Animal Husbandry Department before you build your plan. Keep your land papers, quotations, bank sanction and identity documents ready, as missing documents and a thin DPR are the usual reasons for rejection.
