polyhouse vs shade net subsidy midh, protected cultivation cost norm per sqm
4 जवाब
Both are protected cultivation components under MIDH and both are supported, but they suit different needs. A polyhouse (a polythene covered, more controlled structure) has a higher cost norm per square metre and is meant for high value crops like coloured capsicum, exotic vegetables and cut flowers where you want tighter climate control. A shade net house is cheaper per square metre and is good for crops that mainly need protection from harsh sun and heat, like nursery raising, leafy vegetables and some flowers. The subsidy in both is a share of a cost norm fixed per square metre, with a maximum area cap per beneficiary, and the share is often higher for small and marginal farmers and for hill states. Which to build depends on your crop and budget: if your target crop genuinely needs climate control, the polyhouse pays back; if it just needs shade and you want lower investment, the shade net house is the safer first step. Confirm the current per square metre cost norms, the subsidy percentage and the area cap for both on your state horticulture portal, and make sure you have buyers for the high value crop before committing to a polyhouse.
Pehli baar protected farming kar rahe ho to shade net se shuru karo, sasta hai aur risk kam. Polyhouse tabhi jab high value crop aur pakka buyer ho.
There is a maximum area on which subsidy is paid per farmer. People build a big polyhouse expecting subsidy on all of it, but only the capped area gets the percentage. Know the cap before you size the structure.
Maintenance is the part people forget. The polythene sheet needs replacing after a few years and that cost is on you, no subsidy. Budget for it so the project does not fail mid way.
