SMAM power tiller subsidy slabs for general and SC ST women small marginal farmers.

Power tillers are covered under SMAM and are popular with small and hill farmers because they do ploughing, puddling and transport on small plots. The subsidy is generally around 40 to 50 percent of the approved cost, with the higher slab for SC, ST, women, and small or marginal farmers. There is usually a separate approved cost for different power tiller sizes (for example below and above a certain engine power), so the rupee subsidy differs by model. As always, the subsidy is on the approved cost ceiling, not the full dealer price. Apply on your state or national agrimachinery portal during the window, get selected, buy from an empanelled dealer, get it inspected, and receive subsidy by DBT. Check the exact slab and approved cost for the power tiller size you want on your state portal.
For my small hill plot the power tiller subsidy made it affordable. A full tractor was too big and costly for my land.
