Common reasons SMAM farm machinery subsidy applications get rejected and how to fix them.

Most SMAM rejections come from document or process problems, not bad luck. Common reasons are: name mismatch between Aadhaar, bank account and land record; bank account not seeded or linked with Aadhaar so DBT cannot be done; mobile number not linked to Aadhaar so OTP fails; land record not in the applicant's name, or the holding does not match the category claimed; missing or expired caste certificate when claiming the SC or ST higher slab; buying the machine before approval or from a non-empanelled dealer; uploading an unclear or wrong invoice or serial number; applying for a machine already subsidised to you within the locking period; or simply not being picked in the lottery. To fix it, check the rejection reason shown on the portal, correct the specific document, get your Aadhaar, bank and land names matching, and reapply in the next window. If the reason is unclear, your block or district agriculture office can tell you exactly why and what to correct.
Mine got rejected for a name mismatch. Aadhaar had my full name, bank had a short name. Fixed the bank name and it cleared next time.
I bought the tractor before approval thinking I would claim later. That is not allowed, the purchase must come after selection. Lost that year, applied fresh after.
