SMAM subsidy percentage on farm implements, general versus SC ST women small marginal slabs.

Under SMAM the subsidy on most farm implements is roughly 40 to 50 percent of the cost for general category farmers, and many states give a higher slab, often around 50 percent or more, for SC, ST, women, and small or marginal farmers. The exact percentage depends on the machine type and your state, and the subsidy is calculated on the approved or benchmark cost of the machine, whichever is lower, not on any inflated dealer price. Some heavy or specialised machines have a different slab than simple implements. There is no single all-India fixed cap I can quote because each state sets its own rates and per-machine limits, so check the rate list on your state agriculture or agrimachinery portal for the implement you want before buying.
For my rotavator I got close to half the cost back as a small farmer. The portal showed the approved cost ceiling, and the subsidy was on that, not on the full price I paid.
Do not believe a dealer who promises a fixed rupee subsidy. It depends on the approved cost and your category. I checked the rate list on the portal myself before buying.
