I am thinking of quail farming for eggs and meat because it needs less space and grows fast. Is it worth starting and where do I actually sell quail eggs and meat?

Quail (bater) farming has real advantages: quail grow fast, start laying young, need little space, and have a short cycle, so capital turns over quickly. Eggs and meat both sell. The catch is the market is niche and localised, demand for quail eggs and meat is steady in some regions (parts of the south and certain urban pockets) but thin in others, so confirm local demand before scaling. Note that quail farming is regulated in India, you need to follow the rules for keeping quail (including any permission or registration requirements), as wild quail are protected and only farmed varieties under proper norms are allowed; check the current rules with your animal husbandry department. Sell through local poultry and egg markets, hotels, restaurants and direct customers. Start small, secure buyers, and manage hygiene and disease with veterinary guidance. Verify the legal requirements and chick source with your state animal husbandry department first.
In Thrissur quail eggs sell well to certain shops and restaurants, but I had to build those buyers myself. Fast cycle is the big plus, money comes back quick. Do check the rules with the department before you start.
