want honest numbers on fish and vegetable yield and income from a small aquaponics setup
3 जवाब
Aquaponics gives two outputs, fish and vegetables, and the totals depend on system size, fish stocking, crop choice and how well you balance the system, so realistic numbers vary widely and any single figure should be treated cautiously. Leafy greens and herbs are the most productive plant side, while fish output depends on species, stocking density and grow-out time. Income comes from selling both, but you should plan conservatively because new operators rarely hit the best-case numbers in the first year while learning to balance the system, and losses from a power failure or water imbalance can set you back. Just as important, the income only materialises if you have buyers for both the greens and the fish, which are two different markets. Many online income claims are inflated or quote gross revenue without subtracting feed, power, labour and depreciation on the costly setup. Build your own conservative budget with local feed, power and labour costs, count both income streams and all expenses honestly, and verify expected yields with a working aquaponics farm before believing promotional figures.
First year my numbers were well below the brochures while I learnt to balance fish and plants. It improved later. Do not budget on best-case for year one.
Remember you have to sell fish and greens both. I had the greens market sorted but the fish took effort to sell. Two income streams means two sales channels.
