Planning a small spawn lab. Roughly what equipment and how much investment does a basic mushroom spawn production unit need?

A basic spawn lab needs a sterilisation unit such as an autoclave or a large pressure steriliser, a laminar flow hood or at least a very well sealed clean inoculation chamber, an incubation room with temperature control, basic glassware, bottles or bags, a chalk and grain stock, and pure mother cultures. The cost varies a lot with scale and whether you buy new or used equipment, so a small unit can fall in a broad range from roughly 1 to 5 lakh rupees or more once you add a proper laminar flow hood and autoclave and a clean room. Going cheap on sterilisation or the clean bench is a false economy, because contamination losses will cost you far more. Start small, prove your spawn quality, then expand. Treat these figures as a rough planning range and get an exact equipment list and current prices from DMR Solan, an SAU spawn lab, or suppliers, along with any licensing requirement in your state.
I bought a good autoclave and laminar flow first and added the rest slowly. Skimping on those two is where people fail. Used equipment saved me some money but check it carefully.
