The medicinal mushroom space, including Reishi and Ganoderma and Cordyceps, has seen many scam prone buyback schemes where farmers are sold costly spawn, kits or equipment with a promise to buy back the produce at attractive rates, and then the promised purchase is delayed, refused on quality pretexts, or the company disappears. A written agreement is not proof of genuineness if the terms let the buyer reject your produce on vague quality grounds. Before paying anything, independently verify the company, visit existing growers they claim to buy from, check whether there is any real open market for the product, confirm the realistic market price yourself, and never pay large sums upfront for spawn or equipment on the strength of a buyback promise alone. Get the agreement reviewed and talk to your KVK and DMR Solan. If returns sound too high and easy, treat it as a warning sign. The growing is the easy part, a guaranteed fair buyer is the rare part.
