before I invest in orchids I want to know who actually buys them and if export is realistic

Domestic orchid demand is real but concentrated in metro cities, five star hotels, event and wedding decorators, and high end florists, so you need a channel into that market rather than a local mandi. Export of cut orchids from India is small compared to countries like Thailand which dominate Dendrobium, so do not assume easy export, it needs consistent volume, quality, cold chain and an exporter tie up. Treat any export plan as something to verify with APEDA and an established flower exporter before counting on it. For most new growers the safer path is steady domestic supply to city florists and decorators through a reliable agent. Build quality and reliability first, export can come later if your volume and grade justify it.
City florists and decorators are where the money is for orchids, not the local market here. I had to travel and build that contact myself, it did not come on its own.
