They are completely different businesses, so it is not a simple yes or no. Premium culinary mint is sold fresh by weight to bars, hotels and gourmet buyers in cities, fetches a high per-kg price, but the market is niche, perishable and demand-led, so income depends entirely on having steady city buyers and meeting a tight quality grade daily; it is a small-area, high-touch, near-city crop. Menthol mint (mentha arvensis) is grown over larger areas for oil, distilled, and sold into an established but very price-volatile oil and menthol market, so income depends on herb tonnage, oil recovery and the swinging oil price, and it fits as a field crop in rotation. Per kg of leaf, culinary mint pays far more, but you sell tiny perishable volumes to few buyers. Mentha sells volume into a real market but at a low oil rate that can crash. So culinary mint can be more profitable on a small plot near a city if you have locked buyers and can guarantee quality, while mentha suits larger field-scale growers in the mentha belt who can absorb price swings. Pick based on your land, location and which market you can actually access, and verify current prices and buyers before deciding; do not assume either rate is fixed.

I am near a city so culinary mint pays me better per kg, but I can only sell small amounts to a few bars. My cousin in the mentha belt grows it for oil at field scale, totally different game.
