Want to understand the market for seabuckthorn and whether I need processing or a buyer tie-up to make it worthwhile.

Seabuckthorn's value is mostly realised through processing, the berries go into juice, concentrates, jams, herbal and nutraceutical products, oils and cosmetics, rather than being eaten much as fresh fruit. This means a processing unit, cooperative, or a company buyback or aggregation link is usually key to earning from it, and several such initiatives exist in the high-altitude belt. Without a buyer or processing route, the fresh berries are hard to sell and very perishable. Demand for natural and health products is growing, but it is a niche, region-specific value chain. Plan your selling route before scaling. Verify current buyer or processor links, any cooperative or government scheme support, and realistic prices for your area with your KVK and the regional research institute.
Selling raw berries on your own is tough here. The ones who do well are tied to a processing unit or cooperative that buys the berries.
