I farm on small terraced plots in the hills. I cannot decide between a power tiller and a mini tractor for buying. Which one should I go for?

For small terraced hill plots, weigh how you will actually use the machine. A power tiller is lighter, cheaper, easy to handle on narrow terraces and small bunded plots, good for tillage, puddling and small rotary work, and easy to move between tiny fields, but the operator walks behind it which is tiring and it does limited haulage. A mini tractor (small HP) costs more but you sit and drive it, it is more comfortable for longer work, can pull a small trolley and a wider range of implements, and gives better resale demand in many areas, though it needs a bit more turning space which can be tight on very small terraces. Choose a power tiller if your plots are very small, money is tight, and you mainly need tillage; choose a mini tractor if you also want haulage, comfort and to run more implements, and your terraces allow it to turn. Try both on your own kind of plot and check the local service network for each before deciding.
My terraces are too small to turn even a mini tractor, so a power tiller was the only practical buy for me.
I went with a mini tractor because the trolley work and comfort mattered for my slightly bigger plots. Resale demand is also better here.
