Why is my drip subsidy much lower than my neighbour's for the same system?

Several legitimate reasons can make two drip subsidies differ even for a similar system. The most common is farmer category: small and marginal farmers, and SC, ST or women farmers, usually get a higher percentage than general category, so if your neighbour falls in a priority category his share is simply larger. Second is the cost norm applied to your crop and spacing, because the per hectare norm differs for wide spaced and close spaced crops, so the same field under different crops can attract different amounts. Third is the area sanctioned, the subsidy scales with the area approved, so even a small difference in mapped area changes the figure. Fourth, one of you may have claimed a state top up the other did not, or applied under a slightly different scheme component. Fifth, if your dealer price exceeded the norm your subsidy was capped at the norm while your share looked smaller. Check your sanction letter, it shows the category, area, cost norm and percentage used. Compare those line items with your neighbour's, then raise any genuine error with your office.
