Every time I go to apply something or other is missing. Is there a standard checklist of documents that covers most subsidy applications so I can keep one ready file?

Yes, one ready file covers most schemes. Keep these in both original and clear scanned copies: Aadhaar card, a bank passbook front page showing your name, account and IFSC, your latest land record or 7/12 or khasra khatauni in your own name, a recent passport size photo, and your mobile number that is linked to Aadhaar. Add a caste or category certificate if you will claim a higher subsidy slab as SC, ST or other category, a quotation or estimate for the item you want when the scheme needs it, and for jointly held land a consent or no objection from co owners. Two extra things save a lot of trouble: confirm your Aadhaar is NPCI seeded to the exact bank account you will use for DBT, and make sure your name spelling matches across Aadhaar, bank and land record. Scan documents clearly, blurred uploads are a top rejection reason. Some states ask for a soil health card or a self declaration for specific schemes, so check your scheme page for any extra item before you apply on the state portal.
Ek pen drive me sare scan rakho, clear scan. Har scheme me wahi 4 5 documents lagte hain. Mujhe har baar dukaan nahi jana padta ab.
Jiski zameen joint ho woh co owner ka NOC pehle le lo. Mera isi me atka tha pehli baar.
