A good-condition New Holland BC5060 Square Baler (Baler, Tractor PTO) typically resells for ₹4.4 lakh to ₹8.16 lakh, against a new price of about ₹8 lakh to ₹12 lakh. Older or heavily-used units sell for less; see the condition-wise table above.
What should I check before buying a used baler? +
Inspect the working parts for wear and cracks, check bearings, gearbox, belts and hydraulics, look for poor welding or repairs, and run the machine on the tractor PTO before paying. Ask for the original bill and any balance warranty.
Is a new baler eligible for subsidy? +
Many implements qualify for subsidy under SMAM (Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanisation) and state farm-mechanisation schemes, usually 40 to 50% for small and marginal farmers when bought new. Used purchases are not subsidised, but the lower price often works out cheaper overall.
